The supposed Great Unconformity-a hiatus of one billion years? Many long age explanations have been offered but none are scientifically provable. Many Creation Geologists and Physicists have clearly shown the possibility of an alternative short age and massive flooding event. The above image shows just how much water laden sediment layers are in the Grand Canyon (only the major ones are marked). They lay upon harden crystalline rock. It should be noted that for the assumption of evolution to occur, long ages of the earth are needed. The observed biological changes in organisms do not show enough change to explain the diversity-only minimal variation. Non-observed gaps in assumed progressive changes and diversity are needed, somewhat similar to the geological record. This is all necessary so that people, throughout history, can attempt to deny the Creator God.
