Geology of Israel and Jordan (representative)
The Great Rift Valley runs through Israel and Jordan creating a natural boundary. This rift was secondary to the shifting of tectonic plates between Africa and Asia. The basic geological composition is pre-Cambrian (Basalt dykes/granite) and Cambrian with further stratified layers (sandstone/chalk/limestone). The pre-Cambrian is consistent with pre-(Noah) Flood and the Cambrian and above layers with (Noah) Flood deposition. The above noted sites are representative and will be discussed from north to south below.
