Images of Noah's Flood Throughout the Ages and Continents

Most of the artwork regarding Noah during  200-1900 AD presented the Flood as a massive judgment against man's sin, with only Noah and his family, represented as real people, being saved. It was understood as a literal event by Bible scholars and artists. How does this pertain to us? Remember Matthew 24:37-39, "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." KJV  Men then as now, who do not reverence God, have tried to ignore the Flood Report and its obvious consequences.The images below portray a real Noah, a real large boat, and a real massive flood.

Jewish Encyclopedia (1902) That Portrays Noah's Flood As A Real Event and Worldwide 

Clearly the encyclopedia presents the ark and flood as real and the flood as worldwide. The rabbinical teachings are interesting as they show a consideration and explanation for some of the common problems Noah probably had to deal with. However, they do not comment on the animals hibernating unless it is discussed later.
