"Noah Webster, Jr. (October 16, 1758 – May 28, 1843), was an American lexicographer, textbook pioneer, English-language spelling reformer, political writer, editor, and prolific author. He has been called the "Father of American Scholarship and Education". His blue-backed speller books taught five generations of American children how to spell and read.At age fourteen, his church pastor began tutoring him in Latin and Greek to prepare him for entering Yale Collage. Webster enrolled at Yale just before his 16th birthday,..Webster thought that Americans should learn from American books, so he began writing a three volume compendium, A Grammatical Institute of the English Language. The work consisted of a speller (published in 1783), a grammar (published in 1784), and a reader (published in 1785). His goal was to provide a uniquely American approach to training children... in 1808 he became a convert to Calvinistic orthodoxy, and thereafter became a devout Congregationalist who preached the need to Christianize the nation…His 1828 American Dictionary contained the greatest number of Biblical definitions given in any reference volume. Webster considered education "useless without the Bible...Webster helped found the Connecticut Society for the Abolition of Slavery in 1791,"

The earth's land surface area is considered to be composed of 75% strata that appears to have been water deposited. Including the strata of the oceans, which is very different than that found on the land, increases the total covering of the earth to 80-90%. Yet, the sediments make up only 5% of the crust and less than 1% of it's volume. The other surface rocks include metamorphic and igneous ones..
Stats from britannica.com/science/sedimentary-rock Please note that current sea laiden strata are very different from those seen in the land surface strata.
