 Yet even in their beauty they reflect the corruption of creation due to man's sin. The Rufus will try to scare off all other hummingbirds even when their is enough food for all. They are prone to diseases.

I think insects and plants, apart from disease processes, probably had a divine interaction before the Fall of Creation. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
 Man who is made in the image of God has the ability to create like God in some respects. But, he can not create "out of nothing", he only uses what God has already given him.
