Chapter 2 Adam (the 1st man) was placed in the Garden of Eden and woman formed out of him and for him.
Chapter 3-5 Adam(the 1st man) sinned in not obeying God's Commandment. He is driven from the Garden of Eden, and from there men yield to the nature of sin indwelling them and begin to comment evil deeds. But one man found favor in God's eyes-Noah.
6:5 "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually..."
6:8 "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord..."
7:1 "And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation....7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.7:12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights...18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. 19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered."

JGL Comments (Just some thoughts): Scriptures relating to the heavens and earth before sin and after Adam's sin portray a dramatic change in the physical structures of the both the heavens and the earth. The scriptures do not seem to imply any sort of flooding or torrential destructive rainfall before the "corruption" of the earth by the impact of sin. Thus, Thunderhead Cloud formations probably did not exist before Adam's fall. During the Noah Flood waters dumped both from the skies and the erupted from the earth to inundate the surface of the earth. Thunderheads, in all their glory still represent a fallen earth. The New Heavens and Earth will truly be Glorious. Come Lord Jesus.
