There are no simple living life forms. And mutations do not lead to increasing complexity of design/function. The Hummingbird moth is exceedingly complex and can fly rapidly forward, hover altering the angles of it 2 sets of wings (in a figure 8 pattern), extend and retract a proboscis and use it to extract nectar from flowers. It has a sophisticated set of antennae that can sense pheromones up to 2 kilometers away, and legs. It has the usual general anatomy of insects. I could not find any information on diseases that affect them, but I would presume that they are somewhat similar to other moths.
It is tragic that many have commented on the possible convergent of evolution between the bird and the moth-using this moth as an example. This is a total conjecture based on a non-Creator philosophical/theological framework or worldview. The same data can be used to argue for somewhat similar structures of some parts of the anatomy of the two distinctly different organisms and thus a common design by a single Creator and it having nothing to do with genetic relatedness by progeny. Of course this too, the idea of a Creator, is a theological/philosophical framework or worldview. It is interesting that observational science by itself can not reconcile the issue. The belief in Convergent Evolution requires a belief system outside of empirical science. But so does the belief in Divine Design.
The scriptures state:
Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Men (and women) who do not want to see God as the Creator will choose to do so, but the physical Creation still proclaims His presence.
