What marvelous design-maternal behavior. It is an intricate modification of life for the reproduction and care of offspring. It is not a haphazard event.
God describes Himself in this way:
Isaiah 66:12-13
12 For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.
13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
And God will have mercy on all who turn to Him:
Romans 10:11-13
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Please note that even though the maternal behavior of protection and provision for the young is sometimes violated in various life forms-it is not the normal. I think these rare events (e.g. killing their young etc.) are a part of the Fall of the Creation. A Mother's normal behavior is to protect and feed/care for her young.
