"The buttes are clearly stratified, with three principal layers. The lowest layer is the Organ Rock Shale, the middle is de Chelly Sandstone, and the top layer is the Moenkopi Formation capped by Shinarump Conglomerate." (Wikipedia) Please note that these rocks have the appearance of being laid down in a water/mud slurry over vast areas of the Southwest US. The image below the buttes is of petrified ripples preserved in the sandstone. Dinosaur prints are also found in some strata. These strata are felt to be layered out below the water and ash laid strata of the Painted Desert areas of the Southwest US. They are about 5200 ft elevation in the valley and about 6200 ft at the buttes. Thus these areas would have to have been thrust upward during plate tectonics movement. These kinds of observations are found throughout the dried surface of the earth and are consistent with the Noah Flood Account.
