This is the subject of great concern to me. To understand the Creation/Evolution debate in a correct context one must understand how principles regarding religion, philosophy and science interface. The initial creative event (which I believe occured) can never be "proven" by scientific observation. Nor can evolution ever be demonstrated, as occuring in the past, nor does it occur in the present. Both sides of the debate take the limited observations of science and place them into a belief system. I long for the day when public schools stop teaching the dogma of evolution and just teach the process of experimental observation. Is science of any use? Yes-by it technology is developed. However, the religio-philosophic underpinnings of a society will determine how the technology is used. See article below for further amplification.
