Hummingbirds are amazing feats of engineering: they fly and can hover and beat their wings at 12-80 times per second. They can fly backward and forward at up to 34 mph. They are among the smallest birds at 3-5 inches. Nectar is their preferred food due to the higher concentration of sugar. A long beak protrudes from their skull with the lower beak fitting within the upper portion. A prolonged grooved tongue extends up to 13 times per second to suck nectar. It rest about 75 % of the time and 15% of the time is spent feeding.At rest heart beats about 250 times per minute and up to 1,220 while flying. It can travel from North to South America without stopping. They travel 500 miles non-stop across the Gulf of Mexico during migration. It (they) gain weight from about 3.25 gm to 6 gm just before travel and when arrived weigh about 2.5 gm. And they know where to go:

Yet, these marvelous creatures can get viral, fungal and bacterial diseases. And they fight to protect their territory and food supply especially the Rufus. These aspects and maybe even the long migration may be reflective of the fall of the animal kingdom post Adam's sin.
For in Revelation 21 the Bible says:
21 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son."
