It can be seen that early on man persisted in worshiping the serpent even after Yahweh met with Adam and Eve after they had sinned. His judgment was pronounced then.

The knowledge of this event would have spread into all people groups just as the knowledge of the Creation is known among all peoples. Yet, man has continued to distort the knowledge of God-His purity, Holiness, Righteousness/Justice and Mercy.
The Orphic Egg was one way to explain the beginning of the creation without the Holy God. In our day the evolutionary philosophy is used in the same way. Yet in truth, no matter what way a person believes the universe began and life began one must make religio-philosophic assumptions. Evolutionists are very religious just as I and other creationists are. Whom do we choose to serve and honor: an unknown (assumed) amorphous beginning or a Righteous Holy All Powerful God?
Joshua 24
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Luke 12
37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
